Ah . . . The Bucket. Might be the piece we worry about the most.
For lots of us it's the helmet design that attracts us to one variant over the other.
It's the piece that usually requires the finest detail work. It's the piece that we'll add the most "extra stuff" (padding, lights, headphones, electronics) to. And it's the piece we spend the most money on.
I sanded it . . .
Bought pads for the interior . . .
Aoutacc Universal Airsoft Helmet Pads, 19pcs/Set
(not sure if I love these yet . . . they smell bad - even after airing out for a couple weeks - and the top piece isn't "thick" enough. I'll let you know)
Primed it . . .
And then this happened . . .
I don't know that I'd call this "adding insult to injury" (see the previous post), but my Bucket fell off the painting table today. Pretty good crack in the back.
Reef sanded it down, and I'm working on the repair.
I've applied Super Glue and Fiberglass Resin. (Used A LOT more hardener than last time and it's setting up better.) Tomorrow I'll add some Bondo to fill in the cracks.
This is how it looked after repairs, re-priming, and repainting (only 1 coat of white at this point)
Whew!
Very lucky. But, seriously, stuff like this just might make me pass out!
